Welcome to Countryside Elementary!

Ms. Lori Zataveski
Principal
The Countryside School is home to 335 students in Grades PK-4, and 70 staff members each school day. Here are just a few of the many opportunities our students have been given to encourage active learning:

Through our Buddy Program, each preschool child in our school is paired with a fourth-grade buddy. The buddies meet for one period a week and participate in a teacher-directed learning activity. Through our Student Announcer Program, the students in kindergarten through fourth-grade conduct the morning opening exercises, and announcements.

We have a very active and caring Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO). In addition to raising funds for technology, assemblies, field trips, and playground equipment, the PTO consistently generates ideas for school improvement.

Fourth-Grade Family Science Night at Lenape High School

Mount Laurel students in fourth-grade and their parents are invited to attend the annual Fourth-Grade Family Science Night at Lenape High School North Cafeteria on March 5 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Students will be able to explore hands-on Science activities including robotics and chemistry experiments. Here's a link to register to attend. Please register by March 1.

Kindergarten and First-Grade Roundup in March

Registration of children who will enter kindergarten next September will be held at Mount Laurel Schools during the week of March 12. At the same time, any student who is currently attending a private kindergarten but will be coming to Mount Laurel's first-grade classes in September should also be registered. Kindergarten/First-Grade Roundup will be held on Monday, March 12; Tuesday, March 13; Thursday, March 15; and Friday, March 16 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Larchmont, Parkway, Springville and Hillside Schools. Countryside School and Fleetwood School registration will be on the same days from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. An evening registration will be held on Wednesday, March 14 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at all six schools for parents who cannot attend during the day. Students should be registered at the school they will attend based on the district's geographic attendance plan.

Low Cost Preschool Program Offered for 2018-2019 School Year

Mount Laurel Township Schools offer a low-cost preschool program for a limited number of four to five-year-old children each year. Applications are currently being accepted for the 2018-2019 school year. Classes will be held in our district elementary school buildings. These Preschool Inclusion classes will enroll preschoolers with disabilities along with their peers in order to provide public school opportunities according to the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act.

A Path to Success 2030: Next Steps
The Community Survey soliciting opinion on a new three-year plan for the Mount Laurel Schools has closed, and the data collected is being analyzed. The final step in our Strategic Planning Initiative is to form committees to begin drafting the action plans for each of the eight categories identified as priorities in the public sessions held in December and January. They are: Students, Special Needs, Curriculum & Instruction, Community, Teachers & Staff, Full-Day Kindergarten, Facilities and Communication.

Attention, Parents: You may not use our online registration system to enroll your child for the 2018-2019 school year at this time. Any information input now for next year will be lost when we roll-over the system for next year. Please wait until you see notification here that 2018-2019 enrollment systems are ready for use!

Mount Laurel's Online Registration System for New Students

For your convenience, Mount Laurel School District utilizes an online service where you can complete necessary registration forms at your convenience. At this time, you may only use this system to register new students for the current school year. Do not register students for the 2018-2019 school year until the annual rollover takes place on March 12, 2018. To do so will lose all of your information and you will be required to repeat the process. The registration process is not complete until you bring the originals of the required documents to the school for verification.
